Bosnia and Herzegovina Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Association – BHIDAPA, launched in 2015, the first European accredited educational program in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of child and adolescent integrative psychotherapy and counseling, in cooperation with the D.O.M. Institute from Croatia and the EIATSCYP (European Interdisciplinary Association for Therapeutic Services for Children & Young People), and in accordance with WHO (World Health Organization) European Standards and Recommendations.

The need for such an educational program has been shown by worrying research findings that say that almost every fourth child of early adolescence is at high risk of developing mental disorders, and reports indicate lack of professionals specifically educated in the mental health of children and adolescents. The results clearly emphasize the need to raise public awareness of the healthy development of the child, the importance of adequate preventive actions at this age, and above all the education of professionals in the field of psychiatry and psychotherapy of developmental age.

The European Licensed Education Program has trained candidates to gain professional, research and academic experience with a particular focus on clinical skills. Lecturers in education are world-renowned experts in the field of neuropsychiatry, psychology, social work, family constellations, psychotherapy, from: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, France, Slovenia, United Kingdom and USA.

Child is the future of society! Raising and educating a child, being in a relationship with a lot of love, knowledge, appreciation and clear boundaries is the biggest challenge for every parent, teacher, professional and society at large. Guided by our individual and societal responsibilities for the preservation and promotion of the health and well-being of children and young people, our desire is through BHIDAPA’s work to develop interdisciplinary and intersectoral cooperation with professionals, domestic and foreign related Associations, Institutes and Institutions dealing with children and young people, and that we develop unique standards for the best interests of the child.
