Fourth Module – Support for parents and carers in maintaining the mental health of children and young people during the crisis

Lecturers:

dipl.psih Senka Čimpo, psychotherapist

Parents and guardians are the ones who provide context, environment and routine for their children, and thus represent the most important link in maintaining the mental health of their children and adolescents during the crisis. Understanding the needs of children and adolescents, listening and presence, providing age-appropriate and verified information, but also seeking support (from the environment and professionals) are the basic parenting tasks in maintaining mental health. The realization that parental stress is exacerbated by the health crisis and all the consequent challenges (economic, social and others) puts professionals in the field of mental health at the task of empowering parents.
