The Federation of Psychotherapeutic Associations in Bosnia and Herzegovina strongly condemns the attack on Ukraine.
No aggression or violence is justified. Every war leaves long-term consequences and destroys social, economic, cultural, political, children’s and human rights.
We in Bosnia and Herzegovina understand the long-term consequences of trauma on individuals, families and communities, and especially the trauma of war. Many people who survive traumatic experiences have deep psychological, physical, social and spiritual wounds and injuries that affect the disruption of their daily functioning, long after the wars are even passed down through the generations. Trauma that happens to one family member affects all members closer and wider.
We call for empathy, humanity, solidarity and togetherness in providing support and assistance to the people of Ukraine. STOP THE WAR!
