“Working with sexually abused children and forensic interview”

was held:
from 27.-29.01.2017.

Module has been led by Prof. dr. sc. Gordana Buljan Flander, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. Director of the Polyclinic for the Protection of Children and Youth of the City of Zagreb

The module was open primarily to students of the European educational program in child and adolescent integrative psychotherapy, but also to persons involved in daily work, psychotherapy, treatment, education, education of children and youth, and improving the mental health of children and youth and their benefits.

During the three days, participants were introduced to:
– signs of sexual abuse in children,
– risk factors and consequences of sexual abuse,
– methods of assessment and forensic interviewing of a sexually abused child, and
– modalities of therapeutic support for sexually abused children and their non-abusive parents.
The aim is to empower participants to deal with this issue through lectures and workshops, and to deepen their knowledge and skills that will enable them to adequately respond to the needs of sexually abused children.
