As part of the project “Because We Care”, which is carried out by the Archdiocesan Center for Youth Pastoral Care “Ivan Pavao II” i Association BHIDAPA , prof. dr. sc. Gordana Buljan Flander, Director of the Polyclinic for Children and Youth Protection of the City of Zagreb gave a lecture on children protection, cyberbullying, the importance of mutual cooperation of all institutions working with children, but also the responsibilities of individuals working in these institutions when it comes to children protection.
Through his lecture, prof. Gordana spoke about the impact of the media and social networks on children, the importance of mutual cooperation of all institutions working with children and their responsibility, violence on the Internet, and how to prevent it.
She also commented on the results of a national survey on the experiences and behaviors of children and young people on Facebook and the Internet in general, conducted by the Zagreb Child Protection Clinic together with Brave Phone on a sample of 1,489 children and young people aged 11 to 18.
The lecture was attended by youth educators, teachers, a representative of the centers for social work, representatives of the police and non-governmental organizations.
The lecture was preceded by a presentation of the Global Campaign to Prevent Child Neglect launched by World Vision.
