Violence against and among children in times of crisis (live and online) sexual abuse and exploitation and abuse and neglect of children during high-conflict divorces – the topic of the sixth module

“Despite high demands from the health system to preserve the somatic health of citizens and prevent the spread of the global pandemic, the protection of children under the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the law, with close and systematic intersectoral cooperation, must remain a priority.”

In today’s module on “Violence against children and among children in times of crisis (live and online) sexual abuse and exploitation and abuse and neglect of children during high-conflict divorces” we had the honor of listeningprof. dr. sc. Gordanu Buljan Flander, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, Council of Europe expert and long-term mentor of the professional team, educator and friend of BHIDAPA, who shared with us knowledge and inexhaustible experience in working with child victims of abuse and children alienated in the process of high-conflict divorce, with special reference on the health crisis.

“Children from high-conflict divorces of parents 2-5 times more often have clinically significant difficulties in behavior and experience compared to children from other forms of divorce” – she reminded us prof. Buljan Flander.

Participants also had the opportunity through an exercise, which led Marija Pavlović, dipl. psychologist and psychotherapist, to be aware of their capacities and further points of professional development in contact with abused children.

The Here & Now Virtual Crisis Intervention Project is being implemented in cooperation with UNICEF BiH, with the support of USAID and relevant ministries.
