BHIDAPA invited to mark the 15th anniversary of the Polyclinic for the Protection of Children and Youth of the City of Zagreb

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, in the crowded Revival Hall of the Palace of the National House of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, starting at 11.00, the 15th anniversary of the Polyclinic for the Protection of Children and Youth of the City of Zagreb was marked.

This institution headed by the director, prof. Dr. Gordan Buljan Flander, opens its doors every year to almost 2,000 children, young people and their families. In 2008, in Hong Kong, they received the award for the best multidisciplinary team in the world of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, which brings together representatives from over 200 countries. This recognition is given to professionals who have made significant progress in the treatment or prevention of child abuse and neglect in their community. Two years later, in 2010, the Council of Europe awarded the Polyclinic an example of good practice in working with child victims of violence. As the only such institution in this part of Europe, it stands out by applying the latest scientific knowledge in the field of child protection, and multidisciplinary support to families, with intensive cooperation with other institutions and focus on the best interests of the child. In addition to caring for abused and neglected children, the doors of the Polyclinic are open to all children who deal with various developmental problems.

Over 200 people attended the celebration of this very important anniversary. Many government representatives, especially the Mayor of Zagreb, who gave a significant speech, show the support that the Polyclinic enjoys. With a touching address by the representatives of the board of children, youth and parents of the Polyclinic, the ceremony marking 15 years of work was enlarged and thus the selfless work and commitment of prof. Dr. Gordana Buljan Flander and her team focused on working with children for the benefit of children. The messages sent to us by children and young people clearly show us their true desire to see, protect, ask, hear.

BHIDAPA as the first European accredited educational program for children and adolescents integrative psychotherapy and counseling has the honor and privilege to cooperate for years with the Polyclinic, especially with prof. Dr. Gordana Buljan Flander, who selflessly shares her knowledge and experience with the participants of the Program, and continuously supervises the work of experts and students.
